Rome - day 1

Our travels so far could not be going better, so that's awesome.  We arrived very early to check in at our B&B, but it was no problem.  I keep trying to speak a mixture of French and Italian, though, with mixed results.  After we refreshed, we headed out for our first adventures! 

Just above the Piazza Navona is our B&B, Affreschi su Roma.  Those are our actual keys - one for the safe, one for the room door, one for the B&B inside door, one for the elevator, and one for the outside street door.  I love it!

 

Eglise Saint-Louis-des-Francais - figures.  The first church we go into in Rome is French. 

 

Chiesa di Sant'Ignazio di Loyola in Campo Marzio - this picture isn't retouched at all.  It's really this amazing.

 

 

 

LUNCH!  Proscuito e Quattro formaggio pizza.  Delicioso!  The skinny Coca-Cola cans are meant to be inspirational, I suppose.

 

The Pantheon.  It really is as amazing in person as it is in photographs.  Everything is just stunning.  And there are pigeons.  Everywhere.

Trevi Fountain.  Yes, we tossed in a coin to assure our return.

We've returned home for a bit of a siesta before heading back out to dinner.  I'm hungry again.  OH!  And I almost forgot - had our first gelato and it was wonderful.  Had caffe today.  Think I'll get the chocolate tomorrow.
